  • Ace or Tally - Run

  • Apple, pill, onion - The base ball

  • Ballist - Players

  • Basetender - Infielder

  • Bound - Bounce

  • Hurler - Pitcher

  • Club, Nine - Team

  • Cranks - Spectators

  • Daisy Cutter — sharp grounder

  • Dead or Hand Dead, Hand down - Out

  • Dish - Home Plate

  • Foul tic - Foul Ball

  • Huzzah! - Hooray

  • Leg it - Run Swiftly

  • Match - Game

  • Muff - Error

  • Rover - Shortstop

  • Scouts - Outfielders

  • 'Show A Little Ginger' - Play Harder or Smarter

  • Striker - Hitter

  • Striker To The Line - Batter Up

  • Talleykeeper - Scorekeeper

  • Willow - Bat

Union BBC Home Rules

  • Matches will be played by the 'Bound Rule'

  • All bases are in fair territory

  • Slow pitching with an emphasis on putting the ball where the striker wants it. Trying to make the game about hitting and fielding.

  • Stealing is allowed only on a muff by the behind (2nd bound)

  • Base runners can advance on the bound, must tag up on a caught fly ball

  • No overrunning first base

  • A 'gentlemen' two stride lead off

  • No Sliding

  • Fair/ Foul is determined by where the ball first hits the ground
